This September has been a good month.

  • Our traffic has finally increased after a “terrible summer”.

If you spend hours every day building a site, you worry if you see your traffic drop.

  • Remember: we are dedicated full-time to this Site, so… It is normal to worry.

Today, we will analyze this past month as well as these last 17 months.

  • We started this Site 17 moths ago… It’s been a while.

If you want to check all our Monthly Posts, as well as all the Posts we’ve published related with our SEO strategy, results, Plugins…

We’ll divide this Post into 7 different parts:

1. Evolution of the results of our website during the last 17 months.

  • Clicks, Rankings, Impressions, Traffic Channels, Users and Page Views.

2. Modifications carried out this last month.

3. Main Queries that have led users to our website in the last 17 months.

4. Our Best Pages.

5. Our Worst page.

6. Main countries that visited our website in the last month.

7. How much we earn with AdSense.

Let’s begin:

1. Evolution of the results of our website during the last 17 months.

Total Impressions and Average position evolution.

As you can appreciate in the image above, our Impressions keep improving.

However, our Average Position remains relatively stable.

  • In our previous monthly special post, it was 26.1 and now it is 25.1.

Traffic Channels:

90.3% of our traffic comes from Organic Searches (this data is from last month).

  • That makes sense because we don’t promote our Site in any way.

Users received:

The solid line represents Users received in September – The dotted one represents August.

Here is where you can appreciate how “good” this September has been for us.

While our traffic stabilized and increased a bit in August, this September has been much better.

That makes perfect sense: On Summer holidays, no one is looking for Business-related content.

Total Pageviews per month:

We received 9,910 Pageviews this September.

  • Today, we will probably reach our Goal: 10,000 Pageviews by the end of September.

Let’s compare these results with those we had last month:

  • 51% increase in Pageviews.
  • 53% increase in Sessions.
  • 18% increase in Average Session Duration.
  • 1% decrease in Bounce Rate.

If you check our previous monthly Posts, you will realize that our Bounce Rate and Average Session duration have not improved at all.

  • In fact, some months these metric were better.

Check our “6 months Special Post” for example or our “1 Year Special Post” and compare our results in case you are interested.

2. Modifications carried out this last month.

Since my little daughter has started kindergarten, now I can post more.

Now we publish (again):

  • 2 Pages per week (1,500 to 2,000 words long approx).
  • 1 Website Building Post per week (800 words long approx).

In fact, it is what we used to publish some weeks ago but, with my daughter at home, the confinement… It’s been impossible.

  • We only could publish 1 Page and 1 Post per week.

3. Main Queries that have led users to our website in the last 17 months.

This month, lots of our users were interested in “augmented products”.

That is why we have this Query now in our Top 3.

* However, take into account that these are our results from the last 17 months.

  • We don’t receive this amount of Clicks and Impressions per month (we wish).

4. Our Best Pages.

Our 4 Top Pages remain the same.

5. Our Worst page.

Our “Raising funds for a Business” Page is our worst Page, again.

  • No surprises here.

It is a good page where we give valuable information based on our experience in Venture Capital…

… But not many people is interested about it.

Or maybe, we should rewrite it in a more attractive way.

6. Main countries that visited our website in the last month.

India is the country from which we receive the most visits, followed by the United States.

We are very surprised with the Philippines.

  • As you can see, we had a lot of traffic from there.

We know that it is a country of 100 million inhabitants, but so are Japan or Russia and we don’t see them in this list.

  • It is very interesting.

7. How much we earn with AdSense.

We would like to share all our results in the same way we do with our Analytics or Google Search Console.

However … We’re not sure we can do it.

We have read that sharing AdSense metrics is against Google’s Terms of Service.

So, we could have problems.

You can share your gross earnings but, since we share our Pageviews, Clicks, Impressions…

  • Calculating the RPM would be very easy.

We want to 100% comply with Google’s terms and conditions.

  • And we really don’t know what exactly is allowed.
    • We have not found much information about this.

What we can tell you is this: We are not making a lot of money by now.

  • With what we earn, we could buy… 3 beers a month.

I personally drink 3 beers a day, so…

However, we are not worried:

  • We are sure that Google needs time to get to know your Users, your Content and which Ads would be the best.

Only time will tell.

Remember: if you are interested in our SEO Strategy, which Theme, Plugins… we use, we recommend you to visit our “Website Building and SEO Diary” section.
