This past week, dozens of Users Signed Up within days.
This is good news, right?
- No.
All these users were Spam-Fake users.
How do we know?
Now we’ll share everything with you in this short Post.
- And what did we do.
In case you don’t know, in this Diary we talk about How we are building this Website: our SEO strategy, Plugins we use, our Traffic Results…
- You’ll find all our Posts sorted by Topic here: “Website building and SEO Diary“.
This Post will be divided into 2 different parts:
1. Receiving Spam Users with @wintds.org mails.
2. Our Google Analytics report for today: Users and Pageviews we have.
Let’s begin:
1. Receiving Spam Users with @wintds.org mails.
As soon as dozens of Users suddenly Registered, we checked their mails:
All of them had an “@wintds.org” mail.
- This is the first thing that made us suspect.
Then, we checked their Profiles:
They all had “weird” Profiles.
- All the fields had been filled at random.
- Probably following a sequence (by a Software).
What is Wintds.org?
It seems to be an email used by spam software to massively register non-real users on certain pages.
We Googled it and found absolutely nothing.
- Not a single page talking about it.
That is why we decided to Post about it.
- To help people understand what is happening on their websites.
If you receive dozens of Users with a “wintds.org” mail:
- Check their Profiles.
- If their Fields are “strange” and make no sense… Just delete them.
We don’t know exactly why certain people do this, but it must not be for a good thing.
2. Our Google Analytics report for today: Users and Pageviews we have.
Our numbers continue to improve, but little by little.
Users:
As you can see in the Post’s top image, our weekly Users have stalled.
- We received practically the same users as 1 week before.
Pageviews:
Our monthly Pageviews have increased a bit. We now have 25,160 Page Views per month.
We expect that in these next few weeks we’ll experience an increase in our Pageviews.
- Why? It is what happened 1 year ago.
You can check our Posts ordered chronologically in our SEO Diary.
As always: Thanks for being there!
