This Christmas has been a terrible time for our Website Traffic.

We enjoyed these days with our family and friends but, again, our Results suffered.

  • Like all Christmas.

However, we have used these days to introduce some modifications.

Now, we’ll analyze what happened, and what modifications we introduced.

  • Will they work?… We don’t know.

As usually, we’ll divide this Post into 5 Parts:

1. Evolution of the results of our Site.

  • Rankings, Impressions, Users and Page Views.

2. Traffic Sources.

3. Modifications carried out this past Month.

4. Main countries that visited our website in the last month.

5. Core Web Vitals Evolution.

Let’s begin:

1. Evolution of the results of our Site.

Average Position evolution.

We are not worried about our Traffic decrease.

  • What worries us the most is the decline in our Rankings.

As you can see in the image above, last year, our Rankings fell, but not as much as this year.

  • We will have to wait 2 weeks to find out where we are.

Users Received:

The solid line represents Users received in December – The dotted one represents November.

This image gives you a Hint about what modification we made:

  • We Removed Google Analytics.

That is why our Users received fell to zero.

Our results have been bad… But not that bad.

Why did we Remove Google Analytics?

  • We will tell you below.

Pageviews per month (Desktop):

Pageviews received in December – Desktop Results.

These Results are from our Ezoic Analytics.

  • We went from more than 1,500 pageviews a day to 250.

These are our Desktop Results.

  • We had a little problem tracking our Mobile Traffic.
    • That is why we only show you this traffic Source.

Total Pageviews received.

2. Traffic Sources.

We find interesting that, 15% of our Traffic comes from Bing.

  • It is a lot of Traffic.

We focus on Google tools (as it is our biggest traffic source) but our Bing traffic is growing.

  • Now we will use more Bing tools.

With this amount of traffic, we’ll surely obtain interesting data.

3. Modifications carried out this past Month.

As you may already know, Google now uses Page Experience (Speed) to Rank Sites.

  • It is one among many other factors, of course.

We took many actions to get the best possible Page speed.

However, we’re 0.1 seconds away from obtaining a Good by Google Speed standards.

  • Our LCP should improve by just 0.1 second.

That is why we Removed our Google Analytics tracking code.

We don’t know if it will work (we’ll need some weeks to find it out).

According to some SEO Experts, Google Analytics Slows down Sites a little bit.

  • Not much, but something.

And, since we only need to improve our LCP by 0.1 seconds…

  • We tried it.

Now, we only use Google Search Console and Ezoic Analytics to check our Results (Ezoic Tools are pretty good).

If it works, we’ll analyze our Results and evaluate if it is worth it.

If it doesn’t work, we’ll install Google Analytics again.

  • We love it.

4. Main countries that visited our website in the last month.

This Christmas, UK has become our Main visiting country (well… technically, it is not a country, but a union of countries).

We expected India to become our main visiting country this December.

  • Because here in Europe, we all have been very busy celebrating Christmas.

But no. The UK has been, by far, our main visiting region.

  • It is very curious!

5. Core Web Vitals Evolution.

The evolution of our Core Web Vital Scores.

As we mentioned before, we are waiting these results to improve.

We hope to reach 90 at least for Mobile devices.

  • That is why we removed Google Analytics.

We can only wait and see.
