We have checked out the main Queries that have led users to our SEO Diary (with Google Search Console) and we have found out that many users were looking for “how to generate a Sitemap”.

Hence, today, we’ll explain you how you can generate a Sitemap for your Website in just 1 simple easy step.

  • It is exactly what we did for ours.

In case you don’t know, in this section we talk about How we are building this Website: our SEO strategy, Theme and Plugins we use, our Real Results (Pageviews and Users we have)…

This Post will then be, divided into 2 parts:

1. How to generate a Sitemap for your Website in just 1 Step.

2. Today’s Google Analytics report with our daily Users and Pageviews.

Let’s begin:

1. How to generate a Sitemap for your Website in just 1 Step.

Download and install the Google XML Sitemaps Plugin.

  • It automatically generates a Sitemap from your Website.

It is a light Plugin (we are not sponsored, of course) that requires to do nothing.

As soon as you download and activate it, it generates a Tab at your WordPress Settings menu:

Inside, you’ll find a configuration menu (we have maintained the default configuration) and the URL from your Sitemap:

That is all.

You have to do nothing else, just submit it.

In case you are worried about your site to be slowed down… Calm down, we have a 96% GTMetrix page speed and we didn’t notice any difference after installing this small Plugin.

Now…

How to submit your Sitemap to Google?

Easy.

Enter in your Google Search Console and open the “Sitemap” Tab.

There you will find this (with your website’s name, of course):

Add the rest of the URL and that is all.

How to submit your Sitemap to Bing?

Exactly the same: enter in your Bing Webmaster account and there you’ll find the “Sitemap” Tab in the side menu, where you can easily submit it.

Normally, people use Yoast (or any other SEO Plugin) to automatically generate the Sitemap in a similar way but, since we don’t use any SEO Plugin, we needed a specific one that only generated it in an easy way.

2. Today’s Google Analytics report with our daily Users and Pageviews.

Our Website has been 100% active for 2 months and 19 days.

Let’s see how it is doing:

Users:

As you can see at the Post’s top image, yesterday we had 14 users.

Pageviews:

We had also 14 unique pageviews; 1 page view per user.

As we usually say, these numbers must be improved, of course! But we see a positive tendency.

If you want to know which SEO strategy are we currently following, visit the “2 months special” Post.

  • There we explain what are we doing, our best publications, our pageviews since the very begining…

Little by little we see how we are receiving more pageviews and users, but it is a slow process. We’ll have to be patient.

Thanks for being there.

We’ll rest on this weekend so, see you on Monday.
