As we have told you several times, we started this website from scratch 6 months ago.

  • You can check our”6 months special Post” if you want to find out how our Site is doing after our first 6 months.

When we started this Site, we looked for information about:

  • How to create a proper website.
  • How we could “position” this site as high as possible (at Google’s ranking)
  • Which are the best “practices” possible and which are not.
  • etc, etc.

We suddenly found out something “obvious”:

  • It is very important to appear at Google’s first page.

No matter what we looked for, it seemed to be everybody’s first priority.

Now, we have 2 Pages showing up at Google’s first page and we want to share with you what you should really expect.

In case you don’t know, in this section we talk about How we are building this Website: our SEO strategy, Theme and Plugins we use, our Real Results (Pageviews and Users we have)…

This Post will be divided into 2 parts:

1. What you should expect when getting to the first page of Google.

2. Our today’s Google Analytics report with pageviews and users we have.

Let’s begin:

1. What you should expect when getting to the first page of Google.

We thought that having a Page or Post  at Google’s first page, would mean thousands of pageviews per day.

However, we have realized that this is not true.

We currently have 2 pages that show up at Google’s first page:

“Product Mix” page last week results.

“Scenario Planning” page last week results.

Their Average position vary but, lots of days, they rank among Google’s Top 10 results (first page).

* If you are interested about our SEO Strategy and what we have done for reaching these Average positions, we recommend you to visit our “6 months special Post“.

As you can see we are not receiving thousands of pageviews... Not even hundreds of them.

Having a Page or Post showing up at Google’s first page, don’t necessarily mean thousands of pageviews per day.

Everything depends on the Query associated to your site: How common or trendy it is.

  • If Google places your publication (Post or Page) at first page for the Query “SEO”, you would have much more traffic than if it associated it to the Query “best XIX century typewriters”… obviously.

What you can learn from this:

If you publish good content on a regular basis, sooner or later, you’ll reach Google’s first page (for one particular publication) but, getting to the first page of Google, doesn’t bring that huge amount of traffic lots of “SEO gurus” ensure you would receive.

  • We always insist: be very careful with SEO “gurus”.

2. Our today’s Google Analytics report with pageviews and users we have.

As you may have already seen at the Post’s top picture, this last week has been relatively good.

Since Friday was Halloween’s next day (1 November is holidays in lots of countries) we experienced a drop down in traffic compared to previous week’s Friday.

Our current goal is to consolidate 40 users per day.

This last week, we’ve had, on average, more than 40 pageviews per day reaching 80 pageviews on October 30.

If you compare these results with that we had two months ago, you’ll notice a remarkable improvement.

No need to mention that these numbers must improve… a lot.

We’ll keep working hard, sharing with you everything we do and learn.

Thanks for being there.
