A few months ago, we “discovered” Ubersuggest: a SEO Tool that, supposedly, can help you find Topics or Keywords for your Site.

We used it a couple of times but, since we had to wait several months before being able to check the results we didn’t give it much credit.

Basically, we didn’t trust this tool that much; Internet is full of “scams” so… why would this “wonderful” tool be different?

Today, 6 months later, we compare the Ubersuggest results with our real results in order to give an answer to the questions:

  • Does Ubersuggest work? Can you trust its results?
    • (We are not sponsored, of course)

As always, this Post will be divided into 2 different parts:

1. Does Ubersuggest work?

2. Our Today’s Google Analytics’ results: Users and Pageviews we have.

Let’s begin:

1. Does Ubersuggest work?

Data never lies so, let’s compare Ubersuggest results with some of our pages:

Previous clarifications:

  • Since our Site is just 7 months old, we have chosen our “most visited” Pages in order to have a more representative analysis.
  • Since our pages’ titles reflect perfectly what they talk about (we use short titles) the Queries received match quite good our pages’ titles so, we’ll analyze these titles in Ubersuggest.
    • If they didn’t match, we would have to analyze different Queries and put them together later in order to have a proper analysis.
  • We’ll develop a comparative analysis.
    • Not analyzing the overall results but comparing different results obtained with those projected by Ubersuggest.
  • We’ll focus on Pageviews so we’ll just use the variables: “Search Volume” and “SEO Difficulty“.
  • All the Pages analyzed were published in approximately the same period of time and, their structure, quality, “length” and meta descriptions are similar.
  • We have used Google Search Console results since, some pages have been “shared” on facebook (not by us) and this may “poison” Google Analytics’ results.
  • We looked for USA Ubersuggest results since it is the country from which we receive more visits.
    • Since we want to analyze the results comparatively, this will simplify the things.
  • We’ll compare the results obtained with Google Results.
    • Since many people use Google results as a reference to assess a Topic’s potential.

Conclusion: Does Ubersuggest work? Is it useful?

After comparing our results, Ubersuggest’s and Google results we can say that:

  • Ubersuggest can give you a reasonable idea about which Topics have more potential.
  • It is better than just checking Google results.
    • Ubersuggest’s “Search Volume” give much more stable and comparatively-accurate results than Google.
      • Check how our results are not very different from each other, and “correlate” quite good with the “Search Volume” predicted by Ubersuggest.
        • On the other hand Google results give much volatile results.
  • You have to “be careful” since, the higher the “Search Volume” is, the higher the competition will be.
    • We obtained this conclusion from our “Value Chain” page results.
    • Maybe you need more time for reaching good rankings.

Verdict: We didn’t expect it, but we have to admit that this Tool is very useful for analyzing your Topics.

  • Don’t expect a miracle, of course, but at least, give it a try (and use it with common sense).

2. Our Today’s Google Analytics’ results: Users and Pageviews we have.

Users:

As you can observe in the Post’s top picture, we have had some “bad days”.

We’re close to Christmas and, on every Google Trends analysis we’ve made, the closer to Christmas, the worse our traffic will be.

Pageviews:

Our pageviews do not behave much better.

We only can make one thing:

  • Publish more and better content for our users.

As always: Thanks for being there.
