Today we want to share something that happened to us some weeks ago.

Google Search Console sent us a mail saying: “New Mobile Usability Issues detected“.

The Issues were:

  • Text too small to read.
  • Clickable elements too close together.

We checked our Site in different Mobile phones, but everything was fine.

  • What was going on?
  • What did we do?

As usual, this Post will be divided into 2 different parts:

1. Why do I have New Mobile Usability Issues detected, when everything is fine?

2. Today’s Google Analytics report; Users and Pageviews we have.

Let’s begin:

1. Why do I have New Mobile Usability Issues detected, when everything is fine?

First, we’ll mention that:

  • We had never had any Mobile Usability Issue.
  • Our Theme is Mobile friendly as well as all our Plugins.
  • We don’t code or do any “experiments” with our Site.

One day, our Google Search Console showed us this:

We opened it and saw what we mentioned earlier:

  • Text too small to read.

  • Clickable elements too close together.

Moreover, those 2 Issues had been detected in the same page, on same day.

Of course, the first thing we did was inspecting that page in different Mobile phones, but everything seemed right.

  • We use the same Font and distribution in all our Pages so there was no reason this Page should have any particular problem.

We did nothing.

  • If you follow our “Website Building and SEO Diary” section (this one) you’ll know that, we prefer to do “less” than “too much”.
    • Providing you have a good Theme, good Plugins… and you don’t introduce any “strange” code in your Site, of course.

Few days later, this problem disappeared without us doing anything.

We have had this “ghost” Issues again but as you can see in our Google Search Console Mobile Usability Issues’ graph, they “come” and “go”:

Obviously, we are talking about a “ghost” Issue in this case (it appeared and we didn’t see anything wrong).

  • If you experience this Issue and you see something wrong in your Site’s Mobile version, you should fix it immediately.

But:

  • If you just have 1 or 2 Issues.
  • If you have never had any Mobile Usability Issue before.
  • If you haven’t done anything particularly new in your Site.
    • Like coding, modifying the overall appearance, installing a new Theme…

Then you should not worry. Just wait.

2. Today’s Google Analytics report; Users and Pageviews we have.

After the terrible traffic decrease we experienced in Christmas, our numbers are improving remarkably.

Users:

As you may have already see in the Post’s Top picture, we are getting close to 400 users per week.

  • We have never reached that amount of users.

Pageviews:

As you can see, our pageviews have also increased accordingly.

As always: Thanks for being there.
