As you may already know, we use Autoptimize.

  • It is a good and effective Plugin for improving your page speed.

However, shortly after installing it, we realized that our Autoptimize Cache had increased enormously.

  • We were experiencing an increase of 100 mb per day.

What was going on?

Today we’ll tell you how we solved this problem easily.

In case you don’t know, in this section we talk about How we are building this Website: our SEO strategy, Theme and Plugins we use, our Real Results (Pageviews and Users we have)…

This Post will be divided into 2 different parts:

1. How we prevented our Autoptimize Cache from rising uncontrollably.

2. Our Today’s Google Analytics report: Users and Pageviews we have.

Let’s begin:

1. How we prevented our Autoptimize Cache from rising uncontrollably.

Autoptimize Caches your Scripts, moves your styles to the footer, and many other things.

  • This makes your Site much faster (we have checked it for ourselves).

If you hover over your Autoptimize menu you’ll see the size of your Cache:

The problem is:

If this Cache becomes too large, it can make your Site collapse.

Hence, once in a while you have to Delete this Cache by pressing the button “Delete Cache” you can see in the picture above.

  • This process can’t be done automatically. You have to do it manually.

But, if this Cache grows very fast, it can “break” your Site before you have time to delete it.

As mentioned earlier, our Cache was growing 100mb per day.

What did we do?

1. Enter your Autoptimize menu.

2. Uncheck the “Also aggregate inline CSS” checkbox in the CSS options.

3. Save Changes.

OUR RESULTS

We did this a week ago and:

  • Our Cache is only 25 mb after 7 days (see the picture above).
  • Our page speed has not decreased.
  • We have seen nothing different in our Site.

2. Our Today’s Google Analytics report: Users and Pageviews we have.

As you may have already seen in the Post’s top image, these last 7 days have been very good.

Users:

We have exceeded 500 users per week.

  • This is good news, of course.

Pageviews:

Our current goal is to receive 100 pageviews per day on a regular basis, and we are getting closer.

  • In fact, some days we received more.

As always, thanks for being there.
