Today, we want to talk about something that surprised us.

2 days ago, I was watching a SEO-related video on YouTube (we like to be informed in case there is something we are missing) and, a very important SEO expert said:

  • “I check my Google Search Console a couple of times a year” (or something like this).

He basically said that Google Search Console is not that important.

We don’t want to think badly, but he then talked about a wonderful tool that cost few dollars a month…

  • We are not kidding… That is why we always tell you not to trust everything you hear regarding SEO: because there is lot of money involved.

We were surprised.

If he had said other think we would have trusted him.

  • In the end, we are not as experts as this guy is.

But, saying that Google Search Console; a free tool that tells you what your users were looking for when then found your Site is useless, is preposterous.

  • We are not experts but, we are sure that all the payment tools, use your Google Search Console data.
    • If you already have access to it for free.. why should you pay for it?

What is why Today, we want to highlight again why is Google Search Console important.

In case you don’t know, in this section we talk about How we are building this Website: our SEO strategy, Theme and Plugins we use, our Real Results (Pageviews and Users we have)…

As usual, this Post will be divided into 2 different parts:

1. What is the importance of Google Search Console?

2. Our Today’s Google Analytics report: Users and Pageviews we have.

Let’s begin:

1. What is the importance of Google Search Console?

Google Search Console is a free Tool that tells you what users were looking for when they entered your Site.

While Google Analytics studies all que Quantitative data once your users entered your Site (such as Session Duration, Bounce Rates, Pages Per session, etc) Google Search Console analyzes how your publications are performing in Google’s search engine.

It allows you to study what happened before your users found your Site.

  • What they were looking for.
    • Your Queries.
  • How many users saw your Site but didn’t click through.
    • Impressions Clicks.
      • And what they were looking for: Queries associated .
  • What is or was the Average position of your publication in Google’s search engine.
    • Your Average positions.
  • etc.

Google Analytics and Google Search Console are tools that complement each other.

While Google Analytics tells you what should be improved (publications with poor performance) Google Search Console tells you How.

  • You can check your Top Queries received.
    • And Queries that are not properly addressed.
  • You can use high CTR publications as your reference.
  • etc.

We check our Google Search Console daily and try to obtain valuable information that helps us improving our content and its performance.

If you are interested about it, we developed a helpful guide where we explained how to use Google Search Console step by step and everything you need to know about it:

You can check all our Posts in our “Website building and SEO Diary“.

  • There we have much more Posts related with how to use Google Search Console.

2. Our Today’s Google Analytics report: Users and Pageviews we have.

As you can appreciate in the Post’s top image, our numbers have increased remarkably this last week.

We have reached 800 users per week. Our record so far.

  • Honestly we don’t know if this big increase in users is because now, the whole world is connected to the Internet (due to the Coronavirus confinement) or because our content is doing well.
    • It is hard to say, although our numbers suggest that second option.

Only time will tell.

As you can see, we’ve had a whole week with more than 120 pageviews per day.

Not bad… But we want to reach much more people.

If you  have been following this Diary, you’ll remember our first Posts with 1 or zero users per day… Now we have more than 150 some days, and our numbers are increasing!

Thanks for being there.
