What is the AIO Model?

The AIO Model is a Tool that helps to analyze Customers and  Develop Market Segmentations by Studying How They Act and Think.

 

Its purpose is to offer a Simple way to Understand Clients and Which Products are best for them.

 

Its name, is an acronym for the Three Metrics proposed to do so:

  • Activities.
  • Interests.
  • Opinion.

The Three Metrics of the AIO Model

1. Activities: What Clients Do in their day to day, their Actions.

  • Which Jobs they Have, their Hobbies, etc .

 

2. Interests: What Clients Like or What they want to Know more about.

  • What they are Interested and Curious about.

 

3. Opinion: How Customers, or Potential Clients, Think.

  • Their thinking Biases.

One of the Economic Sectors that uses this Approach the most is the News Sector.

  • It does not matter if it is Newspapers, TV News, Radio news, etc.

 

Each Company Maintains a Specific editorial line, to adapt the Content to their Audience.

  • That is why we usually say that a certain newspaper is “left” or “right” wing.

Because they all have a Bias that defines them.

 

News Corporations study what their Clients Think, their Interests and How they Perceive World Events.

  • Based on that, they Adapt their Content to this Bias.

 

* Some Companies affirm that they are not Biased and, while it is true that some are more rigid in their Positions than others … All News Companies are Biased without exception.
